How to connect OpenRepairPOS to Claude or ChatGPT

Create a key in OpenRepairPOS (Settings → AI & API), copy the link, and paste it into Claude as a custom connector or into ChatGPT as a Developer-mode app. It takes about 30 seconds once your shop is set up.

What you need

Steps

  1. Create a key in OpenRepairPOS

Settings → AI & API → Create key. Name it (e.g. "Claude") and copy the MCP link. It's shown once.

  2. Add it to Claude

Claude → Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. Paste the link, click Add.

  3. Or add it to ChatGPT

Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings, then add the link as a new app (no authentication; the key is in the link).

  4. Ask in plain English

For example: "What's waiting for parts?" The assistant shows what it will do and asks before changing anything.

Once connected, it also works in the Claude and ChatGPT phone apps.

Things you can ask

What the assistant can do

OpenRepairPOS includes an MCP server with 25 tools: search; look up and create customers; list, get and create tickets; change status; add notes, parts, labor and deposits; log repair time; quote from your price list; search inventory; adjust stock; build a Parts4Cells reorder list; create purchase orders; create and look up invoices; record payments; list and book appointments; run reports; get shop info.
